Procedure Text

The purpose of a procedure text is to explain to make or hor to do something through a series of steps.

Generic structure:
1. Goal : is the aim or the purpose of the text
2. Materials : are things needed to make or to do something
3. Steps : are ways to do the activity

Characteristic of procedure text :
1. using simple present tense, usually in imperative sentence form
2. using temporal conjunction such as : first, second, third, next, then, finally, etc
3. using action verb, for example: add, pour, cut, etc

Example of Procedure Text

                                               Meat Floss Porridge
Ingredients:
250 cc hot water
50 grams instant porridge
1 spoon soya sauce
1 spoon chilli sauce 
crackers
10 grams meat flossTerbitkan Entri


Suggested Preparation:
1. Put instant porridge into a bowl
2. Pour 250 cc hot water, stirr well. Leave it for about 3 minutes until the porridge thickens
3. Add soya sauce and chilli sauce (as much as you like)
4. Then, spread crackers and meat floss. The porridge is ready to be served
